Peel Police - Update - Found Suspicious Meat Examined And Found Not To Be Tainted

Mississauga – On Thursday, July 17, 2008, some suspicious meat was found in Erin Woods Park, Mississauga. The meat was seized by police and sent for examination to the Centre of Forensic Sciences. An examination of the meat has found that it was not tampered with.

 

Peel Regional Police recognize that, regardless of this outcome, citizens found the discovery of the meat to be of concern and that their subsequent enjoyment of the park was compromised. As a result, investigators are continuing in their efforts to identify the individual(s) responsible for this incident.

 

Investigators from 11 Division’s Criminal Investigation Bureau would ask that any witnesses to the incident, or anyone with information on this matter, please contact officers at (905) 453-2121, ext. 1133. Information can also be provided anonymously through Peel Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

 

Police would like to remind everyone that when outdoors, it is always a good practice to keep a close watch over children and family pets so as to ensure that they do not come into contact with any harmful objects or foods.
