Mississauga – Investigators from the Peel Regional Police Major Collision Bureau are making an appeal for witnesses to an evening collision.
On Wednesday, July 30, 2008, at approximately 8:45 p.m., the victim, 36 year old Joseph PASCALL, a resident of Brampton, was working as part of a road resurfacing crew on Dixie Road, near Eglinton Avenue, in the City of Mississauga. The victim was operating a hand-held road grinder.
Also involved in the road resurfacing operation was a vehicular road grinder – a large, drivable machine. This machine was being operated by a co-worker of the victim.
At the time of the accident, the vehicular road grinder was reversing and drove over the victim. As a result of the collision, the victim suffered life threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital. The victim succumbed to his injuries later that evening.
