BRAMPTON -

Mississauga – Peel Regional Police would like to remind everyone that when outdoors, it is always a good practice to keep a close watch over children and family pets so as to ensure that they do not come into contact with any harmful objects or foods.

On Thursday, July 17, 2008, Mississauga Animal Services were advised by a citizen that some suspicious meat had been found at the Erin Woods Park. The meat was seized by police and has been sent for examination to the Centre of Forensic Sciences. The investigation continues, pending the results of the testing.

After an extensive search by Peel Regional Police Investigators and City of Mississauga Park Staff, it has been determined that Erin Woods Park is safe for use. Nothing suspicious was located during the search, and as a result, the park has been completely reopened.

Investigators from 11 Division’s Criminal Investigation Bureau would ask that any witnesses to the incident, or anyone with information on this matter, please contact officers at (905) 453-2121, ext. 1133. Information can also be provided anonymously through Peel Crime Stoppers, 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
