A 20-year-old man is in hospital after being stabbed while sitting in a car at a red light in Brampton last evening.
The attack happened as the victim sat alone in a black Mazda at the westbound intersection of Hurontario St. and Bovaird Dr. E. just before 5 p.m., said Const. J.P Valade.
A man got out of a silver car and repeatedly stabbed the victim through the window.
Reports suggest the victim drove south on Hurontario St. to Horsham St., where he was located by paramedics and taken to hospital with non-life threatening wounds to his arms and stomach.
It is not clear what provoked the attack and the investigation is still ongoing, Valade said.
Police are searching for a black man, about 5'5" to 5'8", who was wearing a white shirt. There may have been more occupants in the car at the time of the attack, said Valade.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the attack is asked to get in touch with Peel Police.
