Medical officer of health gets national recognition

BRAMPTON - The Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) has recognized Peel Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Mowat for his commitment to strengthening the public health workforce across Canada.

Recently, CPHA awarded Mowat the Public Health Human Resources Award.

“As a leading expert in the health care field with proven expertise in leadership, Dr. Mowat has positively influenced staff and the wellbeing of our community,” said Peel Regional Councillor Annette Groves.

“He’s a strong advocate of evidence-based practice for Peel Public Health, and he continues to promote education and learning for his staff.”

The CPHA is a national, not-for-profit and voluntary association representing public health in Canada.
Each year the association honours individuals or organizations that provide exceptional service to the community and profession.
