BRAMPTON - Get ready for a hilarious romp with the Flower City Theatre Festival's main stage presentation of the musical comedy A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
Running Aug. 1 to 10, the award-winning farce takes the characters and costumes of ancient Rome and sets them against modern day comedy and music.
The show tells the bawdy story of a slave named Pseudolous and his attempts to win his freedom by helping his young master woo the girl next door.
Audiences should brace for non-stop laughs as many classic elements of farce come into play. Clever puns, a two-tiered set with many doors and cases of mistaken identity are all incorporated in the story.
Add to that madcap chases, sleeping potions and superstition, and the result is a comedic and music masterpiece.
A cast of reputed talent will sing and dance for local audiences.
This is an evening of animated theatre and merriment not to be missed.
